Formed by Machiko Ozawa, The Urban Tango Trio has dazzled audiences in New York, DC, South Carolina, Virginia, and Japan. The trio, made up of Latin-Grammy winner Machiko Ozawa on violin, Octavio Brunetti on piano, and composer/arranger Pedro Giraudo on bass, released their first album in 2011.

Classic Guitar

Soichi Muraji made his North American debut performing at The Kennedy Center in 2006; that same year, he was chosen to play in New York City’s commemoration of 9/11. His sixth solo CD, “Reverie,” was released in 2008 on the JVC label in Japan.

2011 S&R Washington Award winners Char Prescott and Ryo Yanagitani will be performing together. Prescott has performed all over the United States and Canada. Ryo Yanagitani has appeared with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Ryo Yanagitani is one of Canada's most promising young concert artists. He recently won the gold medal at the 10th San Antonio International Piano Competition, and was grand prize winner of the Hugo Kauder International Piano competition.

Violin

Tamaki Kawakubo has performed with world-class orchestras including the Russian National Orchestra, Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonia Varsovia. She has won the Avery Fisher Career Grant and the S&R Foundation Washington Award.
